Propagation: Cutting or occasionally seed, grafting/budding

  • by semi-hardwood, hardwood secondary cuttings, in early summer. Apply IBA Quick Dip 1000 PPM. Use intermittent mist. Root in 6-8 weeks. Four weeks cold before warm treatment will stimulate rapid growth..
  • by 'T', chip grafts, in autumn. 'T' budding requires active cambial division which causese the under- stock bark to slip. During dry springs and summers the bench chip method is more successful.
  • by seeds, in spring. Germinates at 60-85 degrees F. The seeds can be harvested in autumn. The seeds need stratify 40F 4-5mo.. The usual germination temperature is 60-85 degrees F.
