The Salvia coccinea is well adapted to Phoenix weather. It will self-seed and will pop out in other places in your garden, without being really invasive. The plants become rapidly leggy, and should be trimmed regularly to be kept compact and attractive. It is one of the best flowering salvias for Phoenix area.
