Growth Habits: Shrubby semi-evergreen perennial, 18 inches to 3 feet tall (45-90 cm), up to 4 feet spread (1.2 m); small, light green, alternate, odd-pinnate leaves, 0.1 to 0.5 inches long (3-12 mm), 6-12 oblanceolate leaflets, 0.04-0.3 inches long (1-7 mm)

Watering Needs: Prefers dry, rather poor soils that helps it stay compact, needs good drainage, tolerates alkaline soils


Blooming Habits:
The Feather Plume bears a spectacular display of yellowish to rose-purple flowers, with yellow throat, surrounded by feather looking sepals. They come in spikes of 2 to 9 flowers in spring to fall.
