Growth Habits: Globular cactus, usually solitary, up to 4 inches in diameter (10 cm)


Blooming Habits:
The plants known as Stenocactus pentacanthus have long lasting bluish flowers in early spring. The flowers can be up to 1.5 inches in diameter (4 cm). Stenocactus obvallatus has white or pale yellow flowers with pink mid-veins.
