Wright's Nipple Cactus


Scientific Name: Mammillaria wrightii Engelm.
Synonym: Cactus wrightii, Chilita wrightii, Cochemiea wrightii, Ebnerella wrightii, Neomammillaria wrightii
Family: Cactaceae

Origin: USA (New Mexico), Mexico (northern Sonora state, Chihuahua state)

Growth Habits: Solitary or clumping, cylindrical cactus, 4 inches tall (10 cm), 3 inches in diameter (8 cm), 1 to 3 hooked central spines, up to 12 radials


Blooming Habits:
The large pink flowers are 1 inch in diameter (2.5 cm). They come in spring.
