Origin: Mexico (Baja California - Magdalena and Santa Margarita islands)

Growth Habits: Slowly branching stems, up to 20 inches long (50 cm), 2.5 inches in diameter (7 cm); 3 to 4( to 6) central spines, 1 to 1.4 inches (2.5 to 3.5 cm) long; 10 to 21 radial spines, 0.48 to 0.6 inch (1.2 to 1.5 cm) long;

Propagation: Cuttings, seeds


Blooming Habits:
Long scarlet flowers (up to 2 inches long - 5 cm), with characteristic backward curled petals. Fruit club-shaped 0.48 inch (1.2 cm), red
