Growth Habits: Solitary, flattened globose stem, up to 8 inches tall (20 cm), 8 inches in diameter; 13 to 16 acute ribs, often wavy; areoles 0.8 inch apart (2 cm), young ones pubescent; 1 recurved central spine, 1.2 inches long (3 cm); 5 to 8 yellow radials, 0.8 inch long (2 cm).

Blooming Habits:
Diurnal yellow flowers, 0.8 to 1.8 inches long (2-4.5 cm), 1.2 to 1.4 inches in diameter (3-3.5 cm), in mid-summer.
