Origin: USA (Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, western Texas), Mexico (Sonora, Coahuila, Chihuahua)

Growth Habits: Clumping cylindrical cactus, pale green stems up to 16 inches long (40 cm), 2.4 inches in diameter (6 cm), erect or semi-prostrate; 5 to 8 warty ribs with narrow furrows; whitish areoles, 0.4 to 0.8 inch apart (1-2 cm); 0 or 1 dark central spine, up to 1.4 inches long (3.5 cm); 3 to 6 radials straight or not, 0.6 to 0.8 inch long (1.5-2 cm)
