Origin: Mexico (Guanajuato, San Luis Potosi)

Growth Habits: Clumping from underground stems, heads up to 2 inches in diameter (5 cm); 12 inches tall (30 cm); 2 to 3 central spines, 0.6 to 1 inch long (1.5-2.5 cm); 10 to 13 radials, up to 0.3 inch long (8 mm)


Blooming Habits:
The yellow flowers come in late spring and measure up to 1.2 inches in diametert, followed by globose green fruits
