Origin: Large area of Mexico (Chihuahua, Durango and Coahuila to Nuevo León)

Growth Habits: Depending on the clone, solitary, or forming large groups, heads 3 inches in diameter (8 cm); tubercles up to 0.4 inches long (1 cm); 1 to 4 central spines, up to 1 inch long (2.5 cm); 7-20 radials, up to 0.8 inches long (2 cm)
