Growth Habits: Columnar cacti, up to 6.5 feet tall (2 m) or more; stems up to 4 inches in diameter (10 cm); 10-27 ribs; 10 to 12 needle-like spines, up to 0.4 inches long (1 cm)


Blooming Habits:
Lateral cephalium, up to 8 inches wide (20 cm), 5 feet long (1.5 m) on mature stems, bearing pale pinkish white nocturnal flowers in summer, 2 inches long and wide (5 cm)
