Scientific Name: Cephalocereus nizandensis (H.Bravo & MacDougall) F.Buxb.
Synonym: Neodawsonia nizandensis
Family: Cactaceae

Origin: Mexico (Oaxaca: Juchitán de Zaragoza) in rocky soils at 650 feet elevation (200 m)

Growth Habits: Tree-like, up to 10 feet (3 m); stems 4.8 to 6 inches (12 to 15 cm) in diameter; 25 to 28 ribs; to 6 central spines, up to .4 inch (1 cm) long; app. 16 radial spines, 0.6 to 1.2 inch (1.5 to 3 cm)
