The genus is named after Charles Plumier, a seventeenth-century French botanist.

Blooming Habits:
The species has scented, creamy white flowers with a yellow center, 1.6 to 2 inches in diameter (4-5 cm).

Culture:
Allow the cut to heal before planting the cutting.
