Need the name of this flower

Has anyone ever heard of the plant called “Christ's Cradle”, or "Christ in a Cradle"? Look carefully at the pictures.
If anyone out there recognizes this plant please, If at all possible, please try to send me any information on it.

When I was given the plant in 1987, it was only 2 ft. tall.

I was told that the plant only flowers once every 7 years and only on the 25th of December.

It did flower, as the pictures show, on Dec. 25, 1988. That was the only time it flowered for me.

It grew in size since then, to about 4.5 ft. tall.
It died last month.
I kind of miss the mystery of waiting for a blossom to appear, I would like to get another one, if I can find it.

I appreciate any help or information on this beautiful plant.
