The lower leaves of the Scabiosa are generally simple, lance-shaped. The higher leaves are divided.
Blooming Habits:
The characteristic pincushion flowers are borne from early summer to fall. Cut the spent flowers to push the plant to produce more. The flowers are also good as cut flowers.
Culture:
The Scabiosa prefers a soil well drained, rather alkaline, moderately fertile.
