Ancistrocactus

'Ancistro' means 'hooked', relating to the central spines. This genus has now been absorbed in Sclerocactus. All the species that were included have the reputation to be extremely rot prone as adult, although they are relatively easy as seedlings. For that reason, many are grown grafted.
